January 27, 2026

As presented at the 2025 Annual Open House, Squamish Community Forest has prepared an updated five-year harvest plan, for the period beginning 2026. Five-year plans are prepared on a rolling basis, as new information becomes available and the harvest plan outlook is further developed. The most near-term harvest plan is for a group of blocks in the Lava flow area, which were presented for public input in 2025 (LAVA 1, 4, 5 9, 11,  and 13). LAVA 2 and 6 are in the planning stages and will be added to the near term harvest plan, pending Nation and government approvals. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback. Originally planned to be harvested in late 2025, timing has been moved back due to a downturn in markets. Pending market recovery these will likely be harvested in late 2026.
